Africian Lion Safari

My parents came over tonight for a visit and brought pics from their day out with the 3 older grandkids at the Africian Lion Safari. I can't believe Emma actually went on the elephant ride with my mom and Megan! Alyssa decided to keep grandpa company "wink wink"

Today we went to a playdate, with my good friend Miranda! Hey how could I not like someone with my name??? The girls had lots of fun and it was good to get out of the house, if only my girls would stay awake longer....I could of stayed longer. Geez, Emma never slept like this...am I feeding them right or did I just sleep too much while pregnant haha.

Play Time

Today was a really good day, Tammy and Kerry came over for a playdate with their kiddies. The girls had lots of fun in the pool and at the water table and the fresh air wore them out quickly. Gosh they didn't even last 2 hours out there without having to go for a nap...hmm perhaps I should do this on a daily basis haha.

What is wrong with the Video Application?? aghh

Gosh, what is wrong with this video program on blogger?? One day I can upload a video, the next day I try over and over again and the stupid thing doesn't work ughhh. How am I suppose to show off my really cute video's of the girls? I know you all live to see more and more pics and now video's of my kids right hahaha. How will society carrying on?

Well, today was another day. I had fun with the girls, but I have this dreaded thing about Friday coming. I'm not on board with Gerry's whole vasectomy thing and it's really messing up my emotions. I just keep feeling like it's one more day closer to the end. Anyway, just crap I have to deal with on my own, but thanks for letting me vent abit. Just don't ask me about it, as I usually end up in tears if I talk about it.

Abby is standing all on her own for short periods now. She started doing that yesterday and we praised her so much that she keeps doing it over and over again now!!! Erica tried to copy, but end up with her hands and feet on the floor with her bum in the air, still she was very proud of herself, clapping away for herself, it was priceless. Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures

Abby had a bad bum rash, so I figured I should give her a good soak in the water and clean her bum really well....problem with two babies and one parent home is carting everyone upstairs, so I improvised

Where has the summer gone?

I can't believe it's almost the end of August! Where has this summer gone? gosh it went quickly. I have to say, i've been enjoyed not having too much of a routine with Emma, besides her three weeks of camp. It's nice to just get up and not have to rush around at all:)

My Uncle Tom's funeral was yesterday. I think it went really well, everything went really smoothly. The urn they chose was just beautiful, it's marble and looked really classy.

I really have to get back to my digital scrapbooking. I've downloaded freebies, but haven't actually done any pages in a couple weeks.

Toyota Funday

Well everyone had fun at Bingeman's Park yesterday for funday. Gosh, Toyota does a good job putting on an event, they even had veggie burgers for me!!! Here's some pics from the day.

My Uncle Passed Away Aug.19th

My Uncle Tom passed away yesterday afternoon in between visits from his family, before my mom, dad and I made it to the hospital. Of course, it was the day we thought we'd go later so he'd be able to get some rest as other family members were there during the day and he was getting tired alot quicker the day before. They thought he was sleeping at first, so that shows how peacefully he went. I met my mom and dad at the hospital to see him one last time and to be there for my parents and for closure for myself.

I have to say it was a very different experience for me, watching him die. I initially went to support my mom, but really connected with him over the 5 days he was conscious and able to communicate with us. I had planned to pretty much sit back and just be there for my mom, but before I knew it I was making sure he was comfortable, feeding him orange juice and coffee off a sponge and helping him in any way I could. I just wanted him to be as comfortable as possible and to feel as in control of things as he could, even if it was something as simple as saying whether he wanted coffee or orange juice or tv. We all made sure he had what he wanted, his truck/car books (even though he couldn't read them) and his reading glasses, cable tv (even if he just stared at it off and on) and whatever he asked to drink (as he couldn't eat). The last day I saw him, I asked him if he knew he I was as he got my sister and I confused over the years and he said "ya Miranda" as clear as a bell and he said "I remember you growing up". I told him I loved him and he said "I love everybody" and I said i'd see him tomorrow, and I did, just not the way I had thought.

I have to say, he looked very peaceful, he wasn't breathing heavily and he just looked like he was in a good place. I didn't want him to have to lie there for weeks wondering what was going on as we just couldn't tell him. He said he was there a long time and said he wasn't getting any better, so I think he knew he wasn't leaving the hospital.

Anyway, just wanted to post this. Hope it's not too depressing.

Okay, I really need to get back to my digital scrapbooking. I've been so busy going to visit my uncle and then spending time with the girls, that i'm starting to experience some withdrawl....hey you might laugh, but it's true, i'm addicted to digital scrapbooking. I'll have to post my pages as I complete them here to share with everyone.

It's alot cooler out today, the girls are wearing their cute green capri's Auntie Tonya bought them, they looks so cute in them.

Surprise Parties

There's nothing better then a good surprise party! I went to one tonight that my sister and my friend Janna's husband threw tonight and it was so great to see the surprise on Janna's face. Janna thought she was just going to come in to use the washroom before heading to the Keg and when she walked in everyone was there to surprise her. Oh the look on her face and surprise to see her boyfriend Peter in the doorway was priceless. Hmm it's too bad the pics aren't on my camera so I could show you. Well as per usual i'll have to put a pic of my kids on here instead:)

Well tonight I decided it was time for some Retail Therapy. Tonya and I went to Winners and I bought a couple decorative things for the house, it's always nice to change things up abit and Tonya is always great at helping me decide on things (i'm terrible at making decisions). Now I'll just have to get Gerry's butt moving to put them up....

Wondered what happened with Big Brother??? i'm going to make this quick and go watch it with Emma. Gotta love PVR to skip through all the commercials.

Well another emotional day, gosh this could get to be a pretty depressing site eh. My Uncle Tom was moved up the 8th floor today (to a comfort room to pass away). It's very hard to watch someone die and we don't even know if he knows he's dying. I think he thinks he's there for pneumonia still, he hasn't asked and we don't want to tell him unless we have to. How do you tell someone their days are numbered?? I took some pictures of him for a keepsake and a really short video. I wasn't sure about doing it, but I think it will be nice to have down the road. On a positive note, we know he's not in any pain as they always ask him and give him morphine if he is. Anyway, i'll keep this part short and sweet as I'm depressing myself here.

Abby, Erica and Emma are doing really well:) Everyday is a new adventure with the twins, I just can't wait for them to be able to walk! Carrying around two babies is quite the workout haha.

My Uncle Tom

Well, I spent a good portion of my day at the hospital visiting my Uncle Tom in the ICU. What was first thought to be pneumonia, turned out to be lung cancer and a fair size tumour beside his heart. Needless to say it's been a very emotional time for my mom, dad and other family members.

Today was a big day for him, they took him off Life Support at 12:30pm and he's still alive now. It was pretty nerve wracking when they took it off him, as we didn't know if he'd go into a cardiac arrest or what would happen. It's the unknown that's always the scariest.

I think he looked alot more comfortable off it, the tube down his throat couldn't be very comfortable. He even spoke a few words every now and then between dozing off, which we were all amazed by. He asked his brother how he was doing, talk about thinking about someone else. In addition to that, he was able to tell us if he was comfortable or in pain and said a few times to get him out of there, not easy words to hear but....

I feel terrible for him, I just can't imagine myself lying there waiting to die. We've learned a valuable lesson from all of this, make sure your wishes are very clear incase your ever in a situation where you need someone else to make important medical decisions for you. My family didn't know what he wanted, so when he had a hard attack after being admitted, he went on Life Support and has remained that way for about 11 days now. Some think it's been nice to visit him, hold his hand ect..but what does he think? that we really don't know, just that he doesn't want to be there. I personally just want him to be happy and comfortable and want what he would want, for me that would be to be out of my pain and suffering.

Another early morning, 6am ughhh and this time it was Abby! I totally must of jinxed myself. Not good after staying up till 12am digital scrapbooking.....Oh boy, do I ever need intervention. I've Got A Banner!

Well after asking my good friend Miranda (no, not me) to make me a banner, I decided I really shouldn't be so intimidated, I should get right down to it and do it myself. Voila, here it is, i'm sure i'll play around with it and add some more stuff to it, but I wanted to see if I actually did it right and if I could figure out how to upload it, before putting too much time and effort into it.

Working Out

I have to say, I feel really good after working out. It takes abit to get in my groove when I first get there, but once I get going it actually feels good to work out. Can't believe I'm saying that:)
Emma's going to a birthday sleepover today and I'm thinking Gerry and I will just hang out and enjoy the girls outside. Gosh, I can't wait for them to walk, carrying to 21lb babies it's alot of work!

Fridays

Gosh, who doesn't like Friday's? Well, i guess people that works weekends? I don't know....but Friday's rock in this house. Means two parents for two babies on the weekend! Erica decided to start the day at 6am, abit to early in my eyes, but how do you convince a 1 year-old that 7am just seems so much better lol. Abby's my sleepy baby, she'd never wake up at such a crazy time:)
