Abby & Erica Sleeping In The Same Room

I knew we'd eventually need to put the twins together in the same room, as we have 4 kids and a 4-bedroom home. The first day wasn't too successful during naptime, it ended up being a big party, and like every party, nobody slept. The girls were cranky and tired by the time bedtime came, so I thought bedtime would be alot easier, but Erica as usual, managed to have a little energy leftover. Abby was so tired, she was crying, while Erica was hanging onto the crib rail jumping up and down yelling out to Abby. I ended up lying down with Abby on the single bed we left in their room, rubbing Abby's back, while she fell asleep and Erica went to sleep when she realized she wasn't getting any attention. I was abit worried this would become our new routine...as I really don't want to have to be in there for naptime/bedtime.

So today when put them down for their nap, we heard a little giggle from Erica and poof..they were off to sleep, and again tonight, the same thing. Guess the novelty has wore off? I hope so, as I thought this was going to be abit harder and perhaps we were going to have to keep then in separate rooms abit longer. Thank god they are in cribs or it definetely wouldn't of worked.

We figure we'll keep Connor with us abit longer, and then when have the monitor next to me while he's sleeping in his room (Abby's old room). It's nice being able to put the girls together in the same room, one day I can see them cuddled up together in a big bed or two single beds...whatever they like best. I have found memories of sleeping next to my sister, it felt safe and cozy.

Well, off to bed now, as we've got a big day planned tomorrow. Off to the parade and then to Monique's for a Canada Day Celebration.

I couldn't believe it, I was talking to my dad and lyed Connor on his back to change his bum, reached over for a diaper and he was on his side, next he was on his belly with his arm stuck under wigglying his little bum and poof out came his arm and he was totally flat out on his belly.

The Pool Is Up

Yah, the pool is all set-up and in the process of being filled up with water!!! Wow, it takes a long time to fill this thing, the hose's have been going since 4pm and it's still only up to the 2nd step on the ladder. Hopefully it won't take as long to warm up as the girls (Emma, Megan and Alyssa) are anxious to jump in!

In the meantime, this is what the girls were up to.....

Our Latest Project

Our latest project (because we're just not busy enough lol) is a big circular 16 foot pool we bought for the backyard. We saw it at Sam's Club and just couldn't pass it up. Emma, Megan and Alyssa and Emma's friends will have a blast in it. I bought the twins floatation jackets too so they can go in, it's 4' deep so I've already warned the kids that an adult has to be watching them. You can never be too careful around water.

Our backyard is on abit of a slope so Gerry and I have been digging and leveling off the area, I think it should be ready to fill today:) That'll take a while to fill for sure. We've got my sister's house and ours to speed up the time though.

Here's some shots of Erica trying to help out and Connor is drinking his bottle and staying out of the sun:) Emma was in school.

Abby & Erica's Scrapbooking Pages

Here's some pages with Abby and Erica, i'm not quite finished Emma's yet, but i'll post her's next.

Connors Scrapbooking Pages

I thought I should get started on Connor's scrapbook as well, so I've now got 4 on the go and with Emma's I have to scan her pictures into the computer first. Think a realistic goal will be to give them these albums on their wedding days:) Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it would be a good time to give them a special album.

I swore I would stay on top of my blog, but as you can see that hasn't happened. Life is busy with 4 kids, but good busy:) Connor is 6 weeks old now, hard to believe already...and he's changing his looks all the time. I'm not sure where the day go lately, before I know it we're getting everyone ready for bed and calling it a day. Connor's temperment has stayed the same, he's still easy going unless he's hungry-then he wants food NOW!

Emma is finished grade 3 and have a very good year. We were really proud of her with all the commotion around the house with the twins and mommy being pregnant again and needing naps. Emma still finds Connor really neat and likes to help mother Abby & Erica, she's a natural.

Well off to bed now, all the fresh air today has drained me.

Well i'm happy to report everyone is happy and healthy again:) It was another good week and a great Father's Day. In celebration we bought a new computer...okay maybe it wasn't exacting in celebration of Father's Day, but I really wanted it for my digital scrapbooking lol. The computer is awesome, 6g memory and a 750G hard drive, plus a 22" widescreen monitor, perfect for all my digital scrapbooking needs and Gerry's surfing:)

Connor is doing well, growing like a week and becoming more alert everyday. He likes to be held alot, but hey with him being my last I don't mind:) This one's going to get really babied.

Now what's up with this weather? one day I need the air conditioning on and the next day i've got a sweater on.....gosh mother nature, make up your mind!

Anyway, enough with my ramblings. Time to go cuddle with the kiddies.

Sick Bay

This weekend was a bust...Emma, Gerry and I were sick, the twins I think had it a few days before us now that I look back on the symptoms. We all had some sort of stomach bug, it made our stomachs crampy and gassy, let's just say we all had to stick around the house. Connor is abit gassy today, so i'm hoping he hasn't got it too bad, hopefully it's just mild for him.

Took Connor to the doctors today and he's 8lbs 6oz, my big man now:) I can tell he's bigger just holding him now, it's funny how you notice it when you carrying him around alot.

I got Gerry some what I call "MAN FLOWERS", you'll understand when you look at the picture.

I didn't know you could buy Blue Flowers huh...

And here's a few more pics:)

Well it was another good week with Connor and Erica, but a trying week with Abby. Poor Abby's been going through a real bad jealous faze and has tried everything from crying, whining to making sounds like Connor, to be the baby in the house. It didn't help that she got sick either....but I have to say she was really good today. I'm hoping she's turning around now and coming back to her old self...fingers crossed.

I talked Gerry into going out to his work PT party tonight as he's been soo great with the kids and has been so supportive to me as well. I couldn't ask for a better husband and so appreciate him taking parental leave to help us all adjust and make it a good experience. Gerry has so much patience for the kids, all of them, and it's cute to watch him interacting with them all. He's become quite the stay-at-home day lol.

Well, that's it for tonight. Here's some pics to share:)

Abby's First Haircut

Things went better then I expected them to. Abby refused to wear the cape, but I told the hairdresser not to worry, hey as long as she could cut Abby's hair, I didn't care if it was on her. At first she squirmed, but then I got her some books and a pencil and we managed to keep her pre-occupied long enough to get it done. Oh it was soo overdue, her hair just has a mind of it's own so it really needed a good cut. I think she looks really cute as well.

At the last minute, I asked if they could trim Erica's bangs. It wasn't something I planned to do and won't do again...what was I thinking??? she has curly hair so obviously there just going to curl right up! duh...oh well, they'll grow back and I can clip them over to the side in the meantime. Here's pics of both
