I knew we'd eventually need to put the twins together in the same room, as we have 4 kids and a 4-bedroom home. The first day wasn't too successful during naptime, it ended up being a big party, and like every party, nobody slept. The girls were cranky and tired by the time bedtime came, so I thought bedtime would be alot easier, but Erica as usual, managed to have a little energy leftover. Abby was so tired, she was crying, while Erica was hanging onto the crib rail jumping up and down yelling out to Abby. I ended up lying down with Abby on the single bed we left in their room, rubbing Abby's back, while she fell asleep and Erica went to sleep when she realized she wasn't getting any attention. I was abit worried this would become our new routine...as I really don't want to have to be in there for naptime/bedtime.
So today when put them down for their nap, we heard a little giggle from Erica and poof..they were off to sleep, and again tonight, the same thing. Guess the novelty has wore off? I hope so, as I thought this was going to be abit harder and perhaps we were going to have to keep then in separate rooms abit longer. Thank god they are in cribs or it definetely wouldn't of worked.
We figure we'll keep Connor with us abit longer, and then when have the monitor next to me while he's sleeping in his room (Abby's old room). It's nice being able to put the girls together in the same room, one day I can see them cuddled up together in a big bed or two single beds...whatever they like best. I have found memories of sleeping next to my sister, it felt safe and cozy.
Well, off to bed now, as we've got a big day planned tomorrow. Off to the parade and then to Monique's for a Canada Day Celebration.
